Alexis Dean (Train/man) James was born May 29, 1968, to the late Annie Lou Shepherd and Jimmy Shephard Sr. He was raised by the late Celustia James and Bobbie Barringer.

Alexis graduated in 1986 from Hayti High School where he was very active in sports playing basketball and running track.  He attended Cotton Boll vocational school in Burdette, AR., where he received his welding certificate.  He worked in many factories, restaurant jobs, and other odd jobs until the Lord called him.

Train gained his wings Wednesday, November 23, 2022.  He leaves the following to cherish his memory: his mother, Annie Lou Shepherd of Hayti, brother, Jimmy Shepherd, aunts, Johnnie Mae Tuggles and Sue James, special cousins/siblings, Tony Barringer, Alice Barringer, Doris Smith, Claralane, LB, and Fred Barringer Jr. 2 nephews, Jalen Alexander, and Jahleel Shepherd. Special cousins/ nieces and nephews, Tora, Jahynill, Frank, Celeste, Cortez, Shylon, Roy, Benita, Jeremiah, Kevin, Cedrick Barringer, Fanedra Benton, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, December 3, 2022, in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m., with Minister Reginold Ford and Pastor Karl Humes officiating.  Burial was in Everfgreen Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Cortez Barringer, Cedrick Barringer, Jeremiah Barringer, Frank Barringer, Roy Barringer, and Kevin Wells.
