Braxton was born in St. Louis, MO, on December 13, 2010, and passed away on October 26, 2026, in Sikeston, MO. Braxton was 15 years, 10 months, and 13 days old.

Braxton was preceded in death by his grandad, William Mayberry; his great-grandparents, Barbara and Bobby Clay; cousin, Mickey Fruhling; and his great-grandmother, Diane McCaig

Braxton is survived by his Mother, Caitlin Mayberry, Father, Ryan Nelson, his Brothers, Hunter Nelson and Chad Bocardo; grandparents, Robert & Lahoma Newsom, Richard & Sheila McCaig, Uncles, Anthony (Emily Fruhling), Billy Mayberry & Logan McCaig, Niece, Oaklynn Nelson, great-grandmother;Sandra Nelson, great-grandfather, Roger McCaig.

Michael Bocardo, along with many extended family and friends and an amazing team of nurses and caregivers who took care of him from the age of 2.

Braxton loved looking at lights and feeling the Sunshine and breeze on his face. He loved being talked to and his nightly showers with 80s music blaring from the phone.
Braxton had the ability to have the attention of an entire room, and he definitely kept his family, nurses, and caregivers on their toes 100% of the time.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel, with Christine Grissom officiating. Visitation will be the same day starting at 11:00 p.m. until service time at 1. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
