Calvin Ellis Ragland, Jr. was born in Jackson, Mississippi on June 3, 1940. He passed away on April 6, 2025, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett, Missouri. He was 84 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Calvin Sr. and Pauline (Hart) Ragland, 3 brothers: Jim, Steve, and David Ragland, 2 sisters: Jeanette and Debbie Ragland.

Calvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a proud retired veteran of the United States Air Force. He also served his community as City Judge for the City of Hayti for over 20 years. He loved animals and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, and gardening. He also enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves the following behind to cherish his memory:

Daughters: Lorine (Lonnie) Smith of Truman, AR.

Amanda McDaniel of Truman, AR.

4 Grandchildren: Danny Smith, Leah Jones, Kyle Bryant, and Jacob   McDaniel

One Brother: Tim (Gaye) Ragland of Madison, MS.

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral in Hayti, MO. with Pastor Ron Lawson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti, MO.
