Terry Dennis Gurley was born in Hayti, Missouri, on January 15, 1954, to William "Bill" and Mary Gurley. He passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, at his home in Hayti. He was 71 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William "Bill" and Mary Gurley, mother-in-law: Delia Alexander, father-in-law: J.W. Alexander, one brother: Ricky Gurley, 3 brothers-in-law Jerry and Bobby Alexander, and Bobby Middleton, Sr.

Dennis enjoyed family time, playing, and writing music. He loved being part of the many bands throughout his music career. Dennis cherished his time with his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.

He leaves the following behind to cherish his memory:

Beloved wife of 47 years: Sharon Gurley of Hayti, MO.

3 Sons: Gabriel (Amanda) Gurley of Hayti

Aaron (Kim) Gurley of Kennett

Dylan Gurley of Portageville

6 Grandchildren: Jules, Addison, Ava, Cash, Jagger Gurley, and Ryder Cole

4 Siblings: Janet Middleton, Carolyn Smith, Tommy Gurley, and Keith Gurley.

Daughter-in-law: Rebecca Gurley, brother-in-law: Ronnie Alexander, Jodi Blansett, Aunt Patricia

Mitchell, and Aunt Peggy Johnson.

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, October 23, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caruthersville, with Father Suresh Samala officiating. Pallbearers: Gabriel Gurley, Aaron Gurley, Dylan Gurley, Landon Alexander, Timmy Bunch Jr, and Kyle Gilmore. Interment will be in Woodlaw Cemetery.
