Obituary

Eddie Rinehart, 80, of Steele, Missouri, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1944, in Holcomb, Missouri, the son of the late C. E. Elsworth and Dicie (Arnold) Rinehart.

Eddie was known all around the Pemiscot area and many more places, making friendships wherever he went. He was born and raised in the Steele area, graduating with the first class of South Pemiscot in 1964 when Holland and Steele consolidated.  This is where Eddie met Gloria Griffin, and they fell in love and married on October 28, 1966, at the Assembly of God Church in Steele. He was a long-time business owner of the Eddie's Tobacco Store for 21 years working along with his parents C.E. and Dicie, he owned a Welding repair shop for 8 years and his last job was a Steele Police officer for 20 years being the local Robinhood and caring for the citizens of Steele and the surrounding area.  He was in the Army National Guard for 23 1/2 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his grandkids, and just picking on folks.  One of his favorite things to do was to cook, especially frying fish for others to enjoy. Eddie would fry fish every Friday at the Chevrolet dealership in Steele for many years, feeding customers, staff, or anyone who was hungry. Eddie had a big heart, and he found joy in giving to others; of course, a joke or crack was always ready to give out freely.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Gloria, 4 brothers-in-law Sam Loveless, Jim Rogers John Schaffer, Jerry Johnson.

His memory is left to cherish by his

2 sons Glenn Rinehart and his wife Lisa, & Russ Rinehart and his wife Carrie all of Steele, Missouri

3 Grandsons Samuel, Beau and Griffin Rinehart all of Steele, Missouri

4 special sisters-in-law the Griffin girls Glenda, Wanda, Iris, and Joyce.

Many dear friends, and relatives.
