Emma Mayberry was born in Hayti, Missouri to the late Gus Hudson, Sr. and Magnolia Hudson. She accepted Christ as her Savior early in life as a child. She transitioned on Sunday, June 21, 2026; her death was unexpected. She lived in Hayti Heights, Missouri, and got her education at Hayti Central School and the Department of Education in Missouri.

Emma was a hardworking woman. She loved people, and there was not a person that she met who was a stranger. She loved her community and served as Alderwoman at the Hayti Heights City Hall under Mayor Catrina Robinson. She kept a beautiful smile on her face. She helped everyone who needed help whom she came in contact with. Emma had a heart of gold, full of love.

Emma departed her earthly life on Sunday, June 21, 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents: Gus Hudson, Sr., and Magnolia Hudson, her great-granddaughter: Modest Joelay Hudson, her siblings: Genevie, Baby Hudson Eli, Levi Hudson, Larry Hudson, Henry Hudson, Luther Hudson, Marilyn Hudson Shallie, and Jimmy Hudson.

Emma is the mother of four children: Sherita Hudson of Hayti, MO., Felicia Hudson of Kennett, MO., Tyrone Hudson of Steele, MO., and Robbie Hudson of Auora, CO. Emma had 11 grandchildren: Alfonso (Roshanda) Hudson of White Hall, AR., Shareka Hudson of White Hall, AR., Darius Hudson of Senath, MO., Clayshade Hudson of Columbia, MO., Shatyra Gates of Columbia, MO., Jayla Hudson of Mansfield, OH., Jeremiah Hudson of Hayti, MO., Tylecia Humphrey of Columbia, MO., Jayla Hudson of Mansfield, OH., Jeremiah Hudson of Hayti, MO., Tyrese Stephens, Jr. of Kennett, MO., Marjhanea Hudson of Des Moines, IA., Robinique Hudson of Des Moines, IA., six great-grandchildren: Aubrey Williams of Kennett, MO., Aaron Hudson of Cape Girardeau, MO., Darionna Hudson of Senath, MO., Ezra King of Mansfield, OH., Olivia Hudson of Newbern, TN., Legend Hudson of Columbia, MO.

Emma leaves to cherish her memory siblings: Willie (Agnes) Hudson of Tarpun Springs, FL., Georgia Hudson of Tarpun Springs, FL., George Hudson of Hayti Heights, MO., Caroly Hudson of Kennett, MO., Robert Hudson of Potosi, MO., Johnny (Dorothy) Hudson of Steele, MO., Ronnie (Diana) Hudson of Fairburg, NE., and MC (Charlotte) Hudson of Kennett, MO., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Emma had a few close friends: Johnie Wheeler, Lurie Barringer, Luvenia Buchanan, Deanie Welch, and Calvin Lee.

Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the Faith Temple Complex Church of God in Christ in Hayti, with Pastor Johnny Hood officiating.  Pallbearers were Robbie Hudson, Tyrone Hudson, Clayshade Hudson, Darius Hudson, Alfonso Hudson, and Jeremiah Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers were Le Charles Hudson, Derrick Hudson, MC Hudson, Jr., Charlton Hourd, Terrance Hudson, and Perry Smith.  Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
