Ernest Lee Morgan was born on August 8, 1949, in Point Pleasant, Missouri. He passed away on August 14, 2024, at his home in Portageville, Missouri. He was 75 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Geneva Lashley Morgan, maternal grandparents: William B. and Irene Lashley, paternal grandparents: Jack and Minnie Morgan, baby brother: David Morgan, 2 sisters: Delores Hedrick and Deanna Gray Chamberlin, one uncle: Marvin "Sonny" Lashley, wife: Alice Sims Morgan, and son: Carl Wayne Morgan.

Ernest was a devoted member of the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Portageville, MO. He was a faithful beliver in Jesus Christ and ministered weekly to the inmates at the prison in Charleston, MO. He was a big jokester. He loved making people laugh. He also enjoyed the outdoors, he loved to go fishing. He received the nickname "Caretaker" while working as the caretaker in the Portageville Cemetery. He would often be seen driving around town in his green and white Ford 4x4 with the name Caretaker on it. He loved driving fast and would say "I'm driving comfortable!" Ernest also loved spending time with his family and friends even his  "grand pets" Brayden "Moot," Kringles, and Big Boy.

He leaves the following behind to cherish his memory:

7 Step-grandchildren: Kyle Curtis and Scott Burton both of Sikeston, MO.

and Nathan and Leann Birdwell of Tennessee

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Portageville, MO. with Brother A.R. Gentry officiating. Burial was in Portageville Cemetery in Portageville, MO. Pallbearers were Grant Williams, Jake Rone, Mark Stockton, Clarence Laws, Jr., Anthony Camerson, and Jonathan Groeneld. Honorary Pallbearers were John Henry Stevens, James Cosky, Gary Dooley, Randy Williams, Joe Davis, Ronnie Fisher, Rick Sells, Bob Thacker, Michael Cook Sr., Scott Bethune, Phillip "Doc" Smith, Mark Thacker, Ronnie Adams Sr., Paul Warren, Brent Pikey, Thomas Curtis, Donald Joe Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Floyd Simmons. Pallbearers in spirit: Dwight Morefield, Clarence Laws Sr., Braymond Williams, and Tommy Dunn.
