Irene Hatley
Wyatt
Nov 22, 1936 — Apr 15, 2026
Irene Hatley Wyatt, 89 years of age, formerly of Steele, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on November 22, 1936, in the Number Nine Community of Pemiscot County, Missouri. The only child of Herman and Jessie (Connell) Hatley.
Irene was born and raised in South Pemiscot County. She was united in marriage to Louis Wyatt on June 4, 1955, and lived most of her adult life at Akins Corner with her husband Louis before his death on January 26, 2008, and she remained there until a few years ago, moving to Brookland with her dear cousin Renna Hatley. Irene was a long-time member of the Boons Chapel Church of Christ and after she moved to Brookland, she attended the Brookland Church of Christ. Irene enjoyed life, and she was always ready for a shopping trip and eating out. She was born with a great sense of humor and style, with a gift of flashy flair, making sure she was dressed for the occasion. She was an animal lover, especially the little puppy dogs. Along with her enjoyment of life, she had a special charm for being inquisitive. To all her friends, she was just a delight; to know her was to love her.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis Wyatt, and their only son Terry Wyatt on June 25, 2019.
Her memory will be cherished by her dear friend and cousin Renna Hatley, Max Hatley, and other dear friends, Ron and Judy Horton, and a host of many friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 1:00 pm the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele, Missouri, with Brother Ron and Michael Horton. The visitation will be held on the same day from 12-1. Interment will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Charles Idol, Michael Hatley, Larry Pounds, Alfred, Keith, and Andy Pritchard.
