Jimmy Joe Simpson was born on June 15, 1949, in Stewart, Mississippi. He passed away on February 10, 2024, in Hayti, Missouri. He was 74 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Sam and Lena Simpson, mother: Hazel Simpson, one brother, and two sisters.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, and many friends. He also enjoyed doing his tree work and various odd jobs. Jim never met a stranger.

He leaves the following behind to cherish his memory:

Wife: Susan Simpson of Caruthersville, MO.

4 Children: Rebecca Caldwell, Kim (Tony) Jones, Brandon Gordon, and Summer (Buck) Wheatley all of Caruthersville, MO.

5 Siblings: James Simpson, Billy Joe Morphis, Sam Melton all of Caruthersville, MO., Jeanette Sanders and Morris Melton both of Mississippi.

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, with Brother Doug Wahls officiating.
