Joe Edward Tate was born in Portageville, Missouri on July 5, 1940. He passed away on August 20, 2024, at Jackson Madison General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. He was 84 years, 1 month, and 15 days of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Delia Starnes Tate, one son: Joe Edward Tate II, 3 brothers: Cooter Hill, Steve Tate, and Paul Cecil Tate, and one baby sister: Elizabeth Tate.

Joe married Brenda Brummett Tate on February 27, 1965, at the Church of God in Caruthersville, MO. They have been married for 59 years. He enjoyed gardening, riding horses, and tinkering around in his shop. Joe loved music. He played in a band for many years and was a very talented singer. Joe also loved going to church. He was currently attending the First Assembly of God Church in Steele, MO. Joe will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who he enjoyed spending time with through the years.

2 Daughters: Paula Reeder (Paul) of Malden, MO.

Deborah Hampton (David) of Imlay City, MI.

One Son: Chad Tate of Caruthersville, MO.

10 Grandchildren: Tuesday and Autumn Tate, Zach and Matt Gunnels, Brandon Reeder, Philip (Moriah) Hampton, Elizabeth, and Wesley Hampton, Melissa (Dakota) Barrow, and Connor Tate

10 Great Grandchildren: Mila, Zaesyn, Key-Leigh, Axel, Levi, Josephine, Brooklyn, Braxton, Deacon, and Blake.

Special Niece: Robin Fitzpatrick of Halls, TN.

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and lots of special friends.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, MO. with Pastor Mark White officiating.
