Obituary

Kway'Chon Edward Chisom, lovingly known as "Boo" and ''Hayti" was born on September 27, 1998, in Kennett, Missouri, to parents Altheria Chisom and Deon Thomas. On September 2, 2025, at the age of 26, he left this world too soon, but not without leaving a lasting mark of love, faith, and inspiration.

Kway'Chon was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ida McGaughy and Gloria Jean Thomas, whose love shaped his early years.

On July 30, 2024, Kway'Chon married the love of his life, Kelby Thomas, and together they began building a beautiful family. He is survived by his son, Ky'eir, and a precious unborn child. His role as husband and father was his proudest calling, and his love for his family was immeasurable.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Kelby Chisom, his son Ky'eir Chisom, and his unborn child; his devoted mother, Altheria Bays, and stepfather, Harold "Tinker" Bays; his father, Deon Thomas; his siblings Kwayauna Chisom and Alayiah Bays (Cape Girardeau, MO), Deon Thomas Jr. (Houston, TX), Delesha Thomas and Deonna Thomas (Memphis, TN), Chrivontae Moore (Hayti, MO), DaShun Hall Oefferson City, MO), Javontae McIntyre (Aubrey, TX), and Cason Wilburn and Carter Wilburn (Southaven, MS); and his step-siblings Sasha Bays (Hayti, MO), Ambria Bays and April Bays (West Memphis, AR), Ekhiyah Vaughn and Harold Bays Jr. (Kennett, MO). He is also remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will carry his spirit with them.

From the time he first picked up a football at age ten, Kway'Chon carried a passion for the game. He played with heart, discipline, and joy, culminating in being named the Most Outstanding Player of Southeast Missouri in 2016. A proud graduate of Cape Central High School's Class of 2017, his talent and drive earned him admiration from teammates, coaches, and his community.

Education and service were also hallmarks of his journey. He earned his associate's degree in general studies from Butler Community College, and in December 2024, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. As part of Security Forces, he completed his Airman in Training Tech School on May 14, 2025, and was stationed in Tucson, Arizona. His service reflected his courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting others.

Those who knew Kway'Chon remember him as a young man who pushed others to "do better and be better." He had a natural gift for encouraging others, an unshakable drive to succeed, and a heart that overflowed with generosity and love. Raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, he built lifelong friendships, strong family bonds, and a legacy of perseverance and faith that will never be forgotten.
