Linda Diane Varnell was born in Pontiac, Michigan on June 22, 1953. She passed away on May 11, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was 71 years of age.

She was preceded in death by his parents: Herman C. and Dororthy (Bracken) Thompson, first husband: Troy Nelms, 2 brothers: Mel Jones and Warren Jones, and sister: Lori Thompson.
