Mary Louise Johnson was born March 5, 1949, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She was born to the late Lucilla Henry and Jessie Wyatt. She transitioned on October 14, 2026, at Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, MO.

 Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Jessie Wyatt and Lucille Henry; her husband, Lewis Johnson; son Lamont Johnson; three sisters: Ellnora Warren, Jessie Mae Larry, and Roxie Wyatt; and two brothers: Jessice Charles and Andrew Charles.

 Mary Lou loves going to church and listening to gospel songs. Mary worked at brown shoe factory, SRG Global, picking cotton, and in home health for many, many years. Mary loved taking care of her elderly.

Mary Louise Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter: Melissa (Tyrone) Polk of Hayti, Missouri., one sister: Lillie (Wayne) Jamison of Freeport, Illinois; one brother: Henry Lee Jefferson of Caruthersville, Missouri; three grandchildren: Alize Nichols, Brittany Johnson, and Oceanna Holts; and seven great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other friends and relatives.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the North Sixth Street Church with Bishop Nathaniel Ellis officiating. The wake will be from 12 until service time. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
