Mary Lou Newton was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 2, 1935. She passed away on January 29, 2024, at Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, Missouri. She was 88 years, 8 months, and 27 days of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil and Pearl (Petty) Hollis, husband: Marvin Newton Sr., 2 children: Marvin Newton Jr., and Nancy Newton, and 5 siblings.

Mary enjoyed gardening, attending church, and collecting dolls. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mary loved her children very much.

Funeral services were held February 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, MO. with Brother Maurice Redden officiating. Burial was in Wardell Cemetery in Wardell, MO. Pallbearers were family and friends.
