Obine Lavell Lackey of Caruthersville, Missouri was born on August 21, 1934, in Monette, Arkansas. He passed away on October 31, 2022, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 88 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ponder and Evelyn (Stevens) Lackey, and one nephew: Levi Lackey.

Obine was a loving husband to his wife Dorothy Gill Lackey. They recently celebrated their 61 ^st wedding anniversary on October 21, 2022. He was also a long-time member and deacon at the Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church in Caruthersville. Obine enjoyed building race cars and watching his son Tony race. He also enjoyed watching westerns and the Atlanta Braves. Most of all Obine loved spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services were held November 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, MO. with Brother Troy Alley and Brother Doug Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, MO. Pallbearers were Jamarion Carter, Devin Wimberley, Morris Watkins, Coy Landcaster, JaShon Leech, and Matthew Wimberley.
