Phyllis Jean (Kelly) Kovacs 72, of Holland Missouri, passed away on Thursday February 29, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Dalton and Frankie Jean (Sanders) Kelly.

She was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 22, 1951, her early youth spent in Dell Arkansas, later her family traveled to other cities following her father's military career. She graduated high school in the state of Virginia.  She was a tax preparer for 38 years with some of that time with H & R Block. She married John Kovacs on May 13, 1974, in Blytheville Arkansas. They had been married for 49 years. John and Phyllis returned to Phyllis's roots and lived in Holland Missouri. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, and going to casinos.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dalton and Frankie Jean Kelly, and her husband John Kovacs who preceded her just a few months ago on October 21, 2023.

She leaves behind Kristy Jackson and her husband Chuck of Hope Mills NC

3 grandchildren: Courtney Young and her husband Richie, Donovan Jackson and his wife Mandie, and Chloe Jackson all of Hope Mills NC

5 great grandchildren Everly, Natalia, Brayden, Amelia, & Hazelyn

Her dear friend and caretaker for 12 years Dianne Mitchell of Holland, Missouri.

Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 09, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele, Missouri, with Brother John Earl Dunavant officiating. A visitation will be held on the same day from 12:00 – 1:00. Interment will be at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri.
