Rickey Daniel Frankum was born in Hayti, Missouri on March 23, 1949. He passed away at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri on November 18, 2022. He was 73 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Annie (Abernathy) Frankum.

Rickey enjoyed anything to do with history, studying and building computers, working on puzzles, traveling, sharing his stories about his time in the military, and spending time with family and friends. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army from July 18, 1968, thru July 9, 1971. During his time in the Army, he received the National Defense Service Medal and a Purple Heart.

He leaves the following behind to cherish his memory:

2 Nephews: Jerry Paul (Mandy) Whitfield of North Carrollton, MS. Stacy (Kelly) Whitfield of Bragg City, MO.

Niece: Jana (Todd) Watson of Kennett, MO.

12 Great Nieces and Nephews: Joe Kelley Whitfield, Ava Whitfield, Michaela Sipes, Jonathan Whitfield, Addylyn Whitfield, Jalen Walls, Jaren Walls, Michael (Dee) Grisham, Analeese Grisham, Josh Watson, and Ava Watson

4 Great- Great Nieces and Nephews: Matthew Sipes, McKenzie Sipes, Annalee Grisham, and Nash Grisham

And a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on November 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, MO. with Brother Doug Wahls officiating. Burial was held in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, MO., with Full Military Honors. Pallbearers were Jerry Paul Whitfield, Stacy Whitfield, Todd Watson, Michael Grisham, Josh Watson and Jonathan Whitfield.
