Obituary

Roy Anthony Booker was born on December 4, 1961, in Hayti, Missouri, to the late Lee Francis (Harris) Booker and Willie Booker. He was a soft-spoken, kind, and hardworking man who carried himself with quiet strength. Roy never had to be loud to be noticed because his actions spoke for him. He was a dedicated provider who worked tirelessly for the people he loved, always making sure they had what they needed. Roy was a devoted husband to Delois, his wife of more than 36 years, and above all else, he wanted those around him to be happy. His gentle soul and genuine kindness touched many lives. The patience, respect, and compassion he showed others reflected the true character of the man he was. Even through life's challenges, Roy persevered as a loving father and son with godly character. After accepting the Lord, his faith became evident in his everyday life. The love he shared, the sacrifices he made, and the quiet strength he demonstrated will never be forgotten. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful to have known and loved such an incredible man, and his love will continue to live on through all of us.

Roy leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Delois; his beloved children, Roy Anthony Booker, Jr., Janil Franchey Booker, Edgar D'Angelo (Morgan) Fonda, Royden Dain (Ashley) Booker, Caleb Anthony Booker, and Adrian Liggins; and his cherished brothers and sisters, Marvalene Marie (David) Miller, Steven Edward (Minnie) Booker, Sr., Willie Mae Booker, Ronnie Ray Booker, Sue Ann Love, Cynthia Denise (Corey) Easley, Craig Pierre (Brande) Booker, Darla Kaye Tillmon, Timothy Russell (Renetha) Booker, Jamie Kennard Booker, Jessica Lee Booker, Christopher James Booker, and Eric Bradford Booker. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, precious grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Lee France Booker; his sister, Latosha Michelle Webb; and his twin sisters, Sharon and Karen Booker. Indeed, Roy was a good man with a big heart. He fought the good fight, and now he has finished the race.
