Tina Faye
Cook
Dec 30, 1970 — Aug 6, 2023
Tina Cook, a passionate firefighter, dedicated police officer, and a warm-hearted mother and aunt, passed away at home at the age of 52 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She lived every day with strength and grace, and her legacy will forever impact those fortunate enough to have known her.
Tina's life was a testament of bravery and resilience. She began her journey into public service over 30 years ago as a single mother who put herself through the Police Academy. She bravely took on the roles of a police officer and firefighter, showcasing her commitment to serving her community and risking her life to uphold the safety of those around her. She later transitioned her pursuit of justice to the Prosecuting Attorney's office where she served as the Investigator for Pemiscot County. Tina had a special bond with her law enforcement and firefighter family. She considered them her brothers in the truest sense. The bonds that she formed through her career were invaluable to her and her commitment to them was evident in her every action.
Tina's giving nature extended beyond her professional career. It didn't matter how much or little she possessed, she shared her last dollar, for she truly believed in the power of giving. Her acts of kindness touched countless lives and made endearing marks on her community.Tina's greatest accomplishment in life was her family. She was a loving mother to her three children Kalib, Landon, and David. While grieving Kalib, who left this world far too early, Tina cherished every moment with Landon and David, who carry her indomitable spirit. She showed love in its most selfless form. She poured her love and devotion into raising them, instilling values of compassion, integrity, and perseverance. Her children were her utmost pride and joy.
Tina had a special bond with her niece, Kristina Ainley, her husband, Ryan Ainley, and their children-Braxton, Reese, and Cooper, who were more like her own grandkids. The cherished moments with them brought about a unique happiness, and they played an immense role in enriching Tina's life in ways words can hardly capture. She never wavered in showing them love and they loved their TT.
Tina found joy in the simple pleasure life offered. She absolutely loved fishing; there was a tranquil contentment she found sitting by the water with a fishing rod in her hand. Some of her favorite memories in Life were fishing with her dad, Gerald Cook, or sitting on his porch watching the hummingbirds. Tina also loved to play video games with her kids and was a wrestling enthusiast. She was an avid fan of the American Hostile Wrestling Association, and rarely missed a match.
One of the most important things in Tina's life was her Faith. She loved and trusted God with her whole heart. Through every trial she faced in life, her love and faith in God never wavered. She often spoke of the importance of knowing Jesus and encouraged everyone to salvation. One of her favorite scriptures at the end of her life was Matthew 9:21 - for she said to herself, "If I only may touch his garment, I shall be healed". Even though Tina did not receive healing in her earthly life, she received her healing as she was embraced by her Heavenly Father.
Despite the toughness of her professions, Tina's life was highlighted by her enormous heart, her playful laughter, and her ability to appreciate life's simple joys. Many will remember her for her radiant smiles that could lighten the darkest room, her infectious energy, and her fearlessness that left an everlasting mark. She was a warrior who fought against adversity with grace and resilience. She had unwavering devotion to her family and her community. To say Tina will be missed is an understatement. Her soul was a beacon of light in this world, and she left a void that will forever be felt. As we mourn her departure, we also celebrate a life that was filled with service, love, laughter, and memorable moments. Today, and for the rest of our lives, we honor Tina's strength, spirit, and the love she shared so freely.
